BOXING CLUB & COFFEE SHOP

MONTREAL 2025

A Montreal boxing club known for its inclusive approach and desire to bring people together. More than a training facility, it defines itself as a community space where exchange, diversity, and shared experiences take center stage. True to its rebellious identity, the club refuses to blend in, offering a vision of sport that goes beyond traditional boundaries.

The project takes shape in a former industrial factory in the heart of Montreal. With soaring ceilings, abundant natural light, and a street-facing location, the space possesses a strong architectural personality and an openness to the city.

The layout reveals a hybrid space where two worlds coexist. On the club side, a sculptural reception desk is highlighted by an illuminated accent wall visible from the street, while a chrome and mirror-finished punching bag adds a bold, unexpected element. At the center, a multi-level platform becomes the heart of the community, offering a place for gathering and observation. On the café side, the counter near the windows also serves the exterior, while ceramic surfaces extend along the base of the walls to create material continuity.

The material palette reinforces the space’s raw and distinctive character. An epoxy floor in various shades of blue creates an energetic foundation, complemented by silver and dark blue woodwork and glossy pale blue, matte dark blue, and glossy red ceramics. Raw plywood lockers recall the building’s industrial essence, while custom wall lighting with red accents adds a sculptural dimension and rhythm.
